AEROBIC SYSTEM Inspection
While inspection procedures vary from one brand of aerobic system to another, all aerobic systems require periodic inspection to insure proper function and ensure long life of the components. Additionally, your new aerobic system is required by the TCEQ to be inspected by a maintenance provider for two years.
Your Cleburne Septic technician will inspect your aerobic system every four months after the initial installation inspection. Inspection includes testing the air, alarm and spray systems, checking scum and sludge levels, adding customer provided chlorine and evaluating the performance of the system. Our inspection regime is recorded as required by TCEQ.
Cleburne Septic suggests that the trash tank of your aerobic system be pumped on a periodic basis, typically every 2-4 years. Pumping frequency depends on usage levels and tank size. Please call our office and we’ll help determine when your system may need to be pumped.
As a “rule of thumb”, here is a good schedule that show s how often you should keep up with good septic health and have your system pumped while avoiding costly repairs.

ADDING CHLORINE
Depending on the volume of water flow of your home, you may need to add chlorine to your aerobic system as often as once a month. Be sure to purchase chlorine specifically designed for aerobics. Again, contact our office and we will be happy to answer your questions.
CONTINUING INSPECTION PROGRAM
Cleburne Septic offers a Continuing Inspection Program to keep your aerobic system operating as designed and to comply with all TCEQ standards. If you have a new system installed by Cleburne Septic, upon purchase our Continuing Inspection would begin after we have completed the two-year inspection included with your system purchase. Please contact our office if you have any questions about your septic inspection schedule.
RED LIGHT & AUDIBLE ALARM
(In panic mode right now? Click here to see our “System Care” video on what to do!)
Your aerobic system is equipped with an audible and visual alarm system to notify you when the system needs attention. (Most systems include a toggle switch to mute the audible alarm.) The alarm indicates a problem with the air or spray system. Neither issue represents an emergency, however, notify Cleburne Septic, so we can schedule one of our technicians to investigate the problem within a few days.
